GREEN100® Index 2024 (Edition 3) Discovers the World’s Leading Organizations Innovating for a GREEN Future – The State of Quality Patents in GREENTECH 2024.

The threat of climate change is real, and it has been the prime talk point of intense local and global debates in the last 3 decades. Time and again, we hear about the adverse effects of climate change on our resourceful planet and spirited human life. Our own choices made in the past inflict these adversities and those hurtful choices surely need to change.

Technology is probably the most scalable change driver for mitigating the burden of climate change. Continuous innovations in technology have made full-scale transformations possible in climate-change-causing industries. They have done so by providing end-consumers with more energy-efficient and/or less waste generating alternatives. Many organizations are collaborating to develop technologies that accelerate efforts toward a carbon-neutral planet. We need to discover and showcase the commendable efforts of these individuals and organizations.

Assesses the commitment each organization is exhibiting for the green future. The assessment of this commitment is based on the investments they have made in research as depicted by their IP filings (Absolute Green Portfolio Size, Geographical Spread, etc.).

Current Impact on Green Future

Measures the current impact they are likely to have created towards a green future. We broadly assess this impact through the overall quality of each organization’s Green Patent Portfolio and the number of industries or players influenced by their patent research.

Potential of Crafting the Green Future

Determines if an organization is consistently contributing with a patent pipeline to lead the green future. We evaluate this based on their Green Patent Pipeline, future potential to exclude others, as well as the future applicability of their patent research.
