This prestigious report recognizes the 100 most impactful Organizations and Research Institutions committed to climate change mitigation through innovative green technology patents.
First launched in 2020, the GREEN100® Index’s purpose was to shine a spotlight on organizations that are driving meaningful progress in the fight against climate challenges through patent-backed innovations. The inaugural edition, published in 2021, analyzed climate-related patenting efforts from 2015 to 2020, identifying the top contributors. The second edition (2020-2021) captured real-time trends and emerging dynamics in green technology. Encouraged by the positive reception from stakeholders, Sagacious IP takes the initiative further with its third edition, adding new features and insights for 2024.

A standout feature of the 2024 report is the inclusion of 100 global research institutions for the first time, underscoring the critical role academic research plays in advancing climate-focused technologies. It also evaluates patent quality, technological scope, and real-world impact, offering a well-rounded view of each organization’s contribution to sustainability.
