In this role, you’ll be instrumental in assisting clients with drafting and filing patent applications, as well as providing strategic advice on prosecution matters.
- Draft Patent applications for inventions in the field of Computer Science, Information technology, and communication technologies.
- Deliver prosecution projects, including independently formulating response strategies for office actions, along with drafting complete responses to office actions.
- Draft provisional specifications and complete patent applications, including well-crafted claim sets that conform to the U.S. and European patent legal and procedural standards.
- Mentor team members on assigned technology areas and provide direction and guidance to team members for drafting and/or prosecution work.
- Apply process knowledge to produce consistent, high-quality results in assigned tasks.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering/technology from a reputed institute.
- Excellent domain knowledge in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
- At least 2+ years of experience in patent drafting and/or prosecution, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in patent drafting for the U.S. jurisdiction.
- Experience of drafting 30+ patent applications for the U.S. domain.
- Excellent comprehension skills, including the ability to read and understand technical literature and patent publications. Robust understanding of the latest and upcoming technologies. Sound fundamentals in the area of expertise.
- Excellent articulation skills to explain and discuss with inventors, attorneys, and colleagues.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze prior art and potentially infringing products to determine the scope of claims.
- Excellent persuasive writing skills to draft convincing arguments. An Understanding of the latest case rulings would be an added advantage.
