Yaron Damelin

Yaron grew up in South Africa and after completing his BA in history from University of Cape Town, he went to live in Israel in 1995. He completed his MBA through Boston University and worked in marketing and business development in various start-ups in Israel’s Silicon Wadi. In 2000, with the early Internet boom, Yaron moved into the Intellectual Property (IP) field, where he has been deeply engaged since, and where he specialized in smart IP Portfolio Development and Management.

Yaron left the patent firm environment in 2006, working as IP Manager at a well-funded communications startup. Looking to fill a large gap, Yaron launched an IP Management business, Patenting Solutions, in 2007 – to support innovation companies in developing ready-for-business IP portfolios to advance the commercial viability of their technologies. Patenting Solutions was re-launched as FocusIP in 2019, to manage clients’ IP loads, for new, growing and even mature portfolios, with unparalleled efficiency.

More recently, following a passion and dream, Yaron has pivoted to specialize in strategic IP development and management for Green/Climate-Tech ventures and companies. He is driven to help Green-Tech clients leverage their IP to Green the World.
